Having some fun and testing new gear at my rehearsal place. Finally got my recording setup back together, too.
The music I play has recently become a little heavier, so I needed to get some heavier bronze to keep up with loud guitar amps, and Rusto-Osiris / Impression provides. I'm especially loving the prototype ride and hihats. They're partially unlathed (like mixed series) so they have some of those darker tones that I like but still are aggressive enough for harder music. Also some new effects in there.
My "new" kit is Pearl MLX (all maple) in sizes 22/10/12/14/15/16, (14" tom is not making an appearance in this video) and actually it's about as old as myself. Snare is Tama Artstar II 14"x6,5" (maple also). Drum sounds of Ilan Rubin, Mike Mangini, Opeth and some others made me want to try the Remo Controlled sounds and they're also working really well for me!
I proudly endorse Impression cymbals. Cymbals in this video:
14" prototype hihat
21" prototype ride
17" Hollister crash
17" Rock crash
12" Trash splash on top of 16" Traditional wide china
12" Rock china
8" Rock splash
Recorded with Canon EOS 7D, Macbook, Cubase, Phonic Helix board and 8 mics. Hope you like!
