Once, the waters sang here.
The Temple of the Lost Naiads rose from a sacred spring where river-spirits danced in twilight. They were the whispers in the current, the breath behind the breeze, the laughter beneath moonlit reflections. Mortal kings came to the temple not for conquest, but for mercy, for the naiads could heal, or drown, with equal ease.
But the rivers changed. And the naiads were forgotten.
Their statues remain, cloaked in silence, gazing forever into blackened waters that no longer shimmer. Ivy creeps across the temple's once brilliant marble, and the arches echo only with the weight of memory. No one prays here anymore. No offerings float across the surface. Only mist, and the quiet sound of something ancient waiting.
Some say if you speak a name not your own, the water will stir. Others say that the naiads weep beneath the surface, their songs twisted by grief into a dirge that lures the lost.
But they are not gone...
