Hace unos meses subí un video para dar a conocer y reivindicar el caso de Adrià Carrasco, mi amigo músico de folk que tuvo que huir de España el 10 de abril del 2018, cuando la policía llamó a su puerta de madrugada para arrestarlo con una acusación de terrorismo. Adri, junto con muchas otras personas y amigos míos, había participado en actos pacíficos para protestar contra la actitud represiva del estado ante el conflicto en Catalunya. Él como individuo no tenía ningún cargo ni liderazgo en las protestas: fue elegido al azar por la justicia para generar miedo y frenar las movilizaciones. Ese 10 de abril fatídico, su familia tuvo que observar con impotencia como la policía se llevaba sus cosas de casa, y escribía con total impunidad mentiras sobre sus pertenencias en los informes, sin tan siquiera ocultar cómo construían el montaje policial para sustentar la acusación de terrorismo. Adri y yo estábamos empezando un proyecto musical cuando todo esto pasó, y ahora por fin he podido ir a visitarle a Bruselas, donde vive exiliado desde entonces. Hemos podido tocar y sacar algunos covers, como éste de Flook, "The Tortoise And The Hare", y cuando pueda volver a casa seguro que lo reprendemos :) Mi canal va de música y nunca hablo de política, pero no puedo callarme al ver cómo se aplica impunemente esta represión a un amigo que es una buena persona, y a tanta otra gente inocente que lo único que hace es comprometerse socialmente y no quedarse en casa cuando pasan cosas graves. Quiero lanzar un mensaje de concienciación: esto le podría estar pasando a cualquiera que muestre activamente su disidencia política, la cosa no va de Catalunya o España, se trata de represión aplicada por mostrar disconformidad y defender derechos, y pienso que hasta que no condenemos y depuremos el fascismo de las instituciones de este país no se podrá hablar de justicia, territorio, feminismo... no podremos hablar de nada. Some months ago, I published a video to protest about what happened to Adrià Carrasco, my folk musician friend who had to flee from Spain the 10th of April of 2018, when the police knocked on his door in the early morning, in order to arrest him with a terrorism accusation. Adri, together with many other people and friends of mine, took part in peaceful acts to protest against the repressive attitude of the Spanish government with the conflict in Catalonia. He as an individual didn't have any position or leadership in the protests: they chose his name randomly to spread fear and stop the demonstrations. That fateful 10th of April, his family had to watch with impotence how the police took his stuff away. They also wrote lies in the police reports with total impunity, without even trying to hide how they built the police set-up to sustain the terrorism accusation. Adri and I were starting a folk band when all this happened, and now at last I could go visit him to Brussels, where he lives since then as an exile. We could play a lot and make some covers like this one of Flook, "The Tortoise And The Hare", and when he is able to come back home we'll keep working on this project for sure :) My channel is about music and I never talk about politics, but I can't shut up seeing how this repression is applied to a friend that is a good person, and many other innocent people, just for being socially engaged and not staying home when bad stuff happens. I wanna send out a message of awareness: this could happen to anyone who actively shows their political dissent, it's not about Catalonia or Spain, it's about repression for showing disagreement and defending rights, and I think that until we condemn and erase fascism from Spanish institutions, people of this country won't be able to talk about justice, territory, feminism... we won't be able to talk about anything.
