The plot of this play was made up, and there is neither song nor lyrics throughout. All is depicted by vivid movements, acrobatics and miming. The story is set in 589 AD.
The name "yandang" comes from the lake of beautiful view on the top of the mountain, where the spreading reed, and the wild geese come and live here in autumn.
