How can you prove you are who you say you are when you’re talking to a computer? They say you need something you know, something you have or something you are - but that's not quite right. What you are is about identification, not authentication. It's too easy to capture or fake biometrics - today's 4K video allows you to capture an iris scan. If you have to use a password, to be safe, use a long password - and skip the nonsense about using special characters and changing it every three months.
Best would be to use a passkey. But even those will become vulnerable when quantum computing becomes robust enough to crack RSA, which will happen in the next two or three years. For now, it's the best we have.
