Arcane rituals from around the world were the inspiration for creating this album. There’s a wealth of information about how ancient cultures performed them for many reasons, such as to bring rain, to punish, or to heal, etc. Sacrifices were very common in these practices, along with the invocation of their gods, beings that might be seen as demons by others.
I remember visiting a museum about the pre-Columbian Moche culture, who lived in northern Peru. They were known for their violent rituals, yet had an advanced social and political structure, ruled by powerful warrior-priests. They practiced human sacrifice during religious ceremonies, drank blood, and used hallucinogenic plants like the cactus Wachuma (San Pedro).
After learning about them, I began to see how these ancient rituals shared fascinating similarities across cultures. That insight inspired me to create music based on these connections. That’s how 'La Hora del Pacto' (The Time of the Oath) was born.
