We took a trip to the US to catch up with Black Stone Cherry at the Webster Theater in Hartford, Connecticut, speaking with frontman Chris Robertson and guitarist Ben Wells. The guys talked about their journey since 2006, sharing insights on performing in small venues, their songwriting process, and how music promotion has evolved from MySpace, and flyers, to social media.
They also discussed the challenges they faced during early tours, the struggles new bands encounter in the digital age, and reminisced about their performance at Download Festival 2018 in front of over 120,000 people and looking forward to returning in 2024.
