
Just a demonstration to show that an H-Bot configuration can also be used to mill steel (see the "cheese video" for stainless steel). For theses kind of parts it´s neither necassary nor economical. I suppose the spindle bearings will also quit shortly if doing it too often. The bit has to be very small because the spindle cannot be run at very slow speeds. By adding a gearbox it would work much better but this machine is not intended to mill steel, it´s just a short demonstration that it can be done. For metal (cut through) the plasma attachment is a much better choice.
The heat treatment is not very effective but better than nothing and it increaeses the corrosion resistance as well.
