So...here we are.... Last Saturday was D-Day for me, my soldiers, and the rest of the underground hardcore movement. All conjoined by the big Thunderdome Event at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
I decided to drop a relentless set to showcase what Original Hardcore is all about. That RAW devastating, yet beautiful & full of pure energy feeling is hard to describe, but one all hardcore lover's just KNOW deep down in their soul.
This is also exactly how it feels in my being while spinning, and that is what you usually see when I'm bouncing around on stage while spinning. I just can't help myself as it simply happens automatically.
Last Saturday Thunderdome for me truly was a cumulation of emotions that had built up in the past months in my personal life. Again, for most of us a very recognizable feeling.

On a personal note, this Thunderdome felt ....different than the ones before where I had the honor of spinning. A lot has happened in the past and it seems things have changed if I reflect. I had many conversations with many artists, promotors, and the likes, which truly were very interesting, including a very personal conversation backstage with Denis Doeland (DJ Weirdo).
Back in the 90'ies we never really had an actual conversation for some reason, but now we finally did and I think we have become closer to understanding one another in a very positive way.

On a musical note, I feel accomplished as my set went down extremely well in my own personal experience. This time I had some video's given to me, which I stitched together in a small recap. I think this explains better with footage than a whole story in words how it was for me and ALL of the people present.

PS... somewhere in the video....spot the die-hard soldiers....You simply CAN'T miss 'em as they already know what's coming and lead the way for people who don't understand what all of a sudden happens, that only a really small crew seems to secretly know...even when away from the group by themselves 😆. This ALWAYS makes me smile, as I DO see those soldiers. It makes me proud 🙂
