Using masks in Fusion can unlock a lot of potential in your VFX compositions. Using masks you can put things behind others, in front of others, change the way something appears on screen, when it appears and more stuff honestly.
In this demonstration from our short film Double Crossed I'm using a mask to change how much of our fire appears on screen since the footage we have is of a fire that is significantly larger than a real camp fire would be. This way the fire looks more realistic and will hopefully look like it was really on set when we filmed the scene!
Don't forget to leave a comment with the word "cowboy" below so I can send you all of the footage from this film for free so you can follow along and learn VFX in Fusion!
