
Phil Perry was a former member of the early 1970s Soul group, The Montclairs. After the group disbanded in the mid 1970s, he later recorded with Richard Sanlin, a former member of The Montclairs member, as a duo in the early 1980s. During the 1990s he had his biggest success with the single 'Call Me' (a cover of Aretha Franklin) as well as the singles 'Amazing Love' and 'Forever' all from the album, The Heart of the Man, released in 1991.
Perry remained busy throughout the 1990s and 2000s as a featured vocalist on albums for other Jazz musicians albums and doing covers of songs done by artists from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as releasing the albums Pure Pleasure in 1994, One Heart One Love in 1998, My Book of Love in 2000, Magic in 2001, The Classic Love Songs in 2006, and Mighty Love in 2007.
