The lead is straightforward and pretty simple to achieve, it's all about of FMing the second oscillator using the basic pos-tri algoirthm and then shaping that FM sound using a highpass 24db/oct filter with a lot of resonance. But what makes it special is the modulations.
Starting with the first LFO, this one will be set to S&G, a rate of 1/4 with phase retrig on and will take care of modulating the first oscillator's pitch. In case you're not aware, the Pos-Tri algorithm in the Virus follows the pitch of the first oscillator so when we modulate it, you'll automatically modulate the pitch of the pos-tri FM algorithm, this will result in a mixture of a squelchy and bubbly sound effect depending on whether the LFO is modulating in positive or negative values.
The first LFO will also take care of modulating the panning of the FM lead to give it movement in the stereo field.
As for the second LFO, this one will take care of modulating the shape of oscillator 2, making it morph continuously between a Sawtooth and Square wave resulting in a constant movement in the timbre of the sound.
These modulations will result a perfect main FM lead as it's always brining something new to the listener while staying true to the core essence of the sound. Plus it gives a nice stereo depth to the track thanks to its panning modulation.
