From the people digging them. They ran into a little boy delivering lunch to his father. He was scared of the men at first but after learning who they were, he took them to see his father.
In this area, nearly everyone's job was digging jade. You could spend months digging and not find a single jade. This man had spent 3 months just to dig out one jade. He eagerly showed it to the businessman.
The businessman inspected the jade. He didn't like the color too much but it was decent. And the cracks made it not suitable for bracelets but other pieces of jewelries will do fine. He estimated it aronud $3k.
Being an honest businessman, he told the jade farmer that he would pay $3k for it. The man was thrilled saying others wanted it for $1800, even $2000. He knew he was being duped and didn't make the transaction.
