This is the new Universal Audio UAFX ANTI 1992 High Gain Amp pedal, which my good friend – and all-round awesome guitar guy – Carsten Stepanowicz and I were introduced to spontaneously at 42 Gear Street Six!-----

Basically, what you’re about to see here is two guitar gear nerds placed in an overly hot room and asked to discover what is a rather complex digital modeling amp in a box pedal – with no prep! OK, I was allowed to look at the manual while we were making the video, but this is probably exactly how it’ll be for you if you grab the pedal out of the box and sit with it for 20 minutes or so (minus having the face-melting guitar skills of Carsten sat next to you!).
The ANTI – in the words of Universal Audio – “delivers the savage guitar tones of Slipknot, In Flames, Machine Head, and countless Scandinavian metal bands right at your feet.” Based on the legendary 120-watt Peavey 5150 tube amp, UA says that “with ANTI, you get the authentic sound of the 120-watt tube behemoth that gave rise to aggressive ‘scooped’ guitar tones, combined with perfectly-miked cabinets to unleash bone-crushing riffs, searing leads, crystalline cleans, and everything in between.”
Which all sounds mighty promising, and that’s without even considering the fact that the 5150 was also made famous by the iconic Eddie Van Halen – so his tones will be in this box too!
With a 3-band EQ, 6 cabs/speakers, a noise gate, distortion, overdrive, and loads of other settings and presets you can finetune in the App, this stereo beast of a pedal can do so much, which also makes the price – it’s currently around $399/€430 – seem a little less expensive.
