Chris Daughtry's latest single "The Day I Die" perfectly encapsulates the thought process of someone who is struggling with suicidiality. For someone who is in the throes of depression the thought of ending their life becomes a fantasy, it seems like an escape from all of the pain, and that escape feels beautiful.
In that way suicidality is just a dream of a life without pain, which Daughtry captures in the song.
