-- FR -- Chronique du nouvel et très bon 7ème album de nos amis finnois d'...AND OCEANS. Il s'intitule Petit rappel sur l'histoire du groupe fondé à Pietarsaari/Vaasa (Pohjanmaa) en Finlande en 1995 et auteurs d'albums phare comme The Dynamic Gallery Of Thoughts (@seasonofmist-1998) et The Symmetry of I - The Circle of O (@seasonofmist -1999), ils n'ont jamais eu peur d'expérimenté dans un style black metal symphonique, électronique et plutôt avant-gardiste (surtout avec le side project alors nommé HAVOC UNIT), le sextet finlandais ...AND OCEANS est sérieusement revenu aux affaires en 2017 après une période de split (évoluant alors sous le nom de HAVOC UNIT entre 2005 et 2013). Ils ont publié le chef d'œuvre Cosmic World Mother (2020), puis le tout à fait correct As in Gardens, So in Tombs (2023), et enfin le très bon The Regeneration Itinerary en 2025 (toujours chez @seasonofmist). Retrouvez d'ailleurs notre entretien complet avec l'un de ses guitaristes historiques et membres fondateurs Timo Kontio (il possède souvent divers pseudonymes comme "T" dans le passé), plus réservé, et le chanteur et parolier, plus bavard, Mathias Lillmåns, (également frontman des biens connus et amis FINNTROLL). It is entitled A little reminder about the history of the band founded in Pietarsaari/Vaasa (Pohjanmaa) in Finland in 1995 and authors of flagship albums like The Dynamic Gallery Of Thoughts (1998) and The Symmetry of I - The Circle of O (1999), they have never been afraid to experiment in a symphonic, electronic and rather avant-garde black metal style (especially with the side project then named HAVOC UNIT), the Finnish sextet ...AND OCEANS seriously returned to business in 2017 after a period of split (evolving then under the name HAVOC UNIT between 2005 and 2013). They released the masterpiece Cosmic World Mother (2020), then the perfectly decent As in Gardens, So in Tombs (2023), and finally the excellent The Regeneration Itinerary in 2025. Check out our full interview with one of their long-time guitarists and founding members, Teemu Saari (he goes by various pseudonyms), who is more reserved, and the more talkative singer and lyricist Mathias Lillmåns (also frontman of the well-known and friendly FINNTROLL).
