MATRIX at The Royal Bar in Brotton Friday 18th November 2005

This night was dedicated to Dean Bushby and took place not long after his passing. Dean was well known in the area not only for his amazing character and party antics but his massive love for North East Rave and his incredible Vinyl collection. Dean had a massive influence on the local DJ's and MC's of the time: Ritchie, H, Kinson, Jaycee etc who were all from Marske and New Marske.

These events were always filled with locals and was a great unity of ravers from East Cleveland all the way across to Marske and Redcar.

The Matrix event was ran and promoted by local lad Shaun Lyon (DJ LYONZ) and still runs to this day in a different venue. The Royal Bar is no more and is now believe it or not actually a Pizza Shop!

Matrix was the first event for many local MC's and DJ's some of which went on to do lots more events all round the North East.

The regular DJ's and MC's were: DJ Lyonz, Nevins, Calvert G, Jaycee, Stewynic, Snoopy, Limmit and Freak. MC's Krazy B, Rage, Hoar, Mikey J, H, Ritchie, Uden, Kinson and Gratton.

This footage was only recently unearthed in 2023 from a Video Camera owned by Kinson and it has been uploaded and digitised by Mass Media UK (Graham Henderson)

Some of the people in this video are sadly no longer with us. Take a trip down memory lane and remember the good times.
