Adding a muzzle flash is a really common visual effect for many reasons. So let's talk about how to add muzzle flashes to your movies!

I'll be taking video footage of a real muzzle flash and using Fusion in DaVinci Resolve to make it look like it fits into our scene. First thing we want to do is use the markers we already added in our timeline for when the shots will happen to line up the effect.

Once we have it set how we want we can use a merge node to put the muzzle flash over out footage and adjust the apply mode to make it look natural. The next step after this is resizing the footage to look realistic!
