VOLUME WARNING: 3:25ish; this highly experimental song is intentionally designed to manipulate the concept of 'volume'.
"Take into consideration why every city produceth not a philosopher"
No matter how dark the timelines would eventually grow, the universe itself would strive against it in any way it could. One universe had made the nano-technological breakthrough, using new understandings in simulated quantum-phenomena to create zero-dimensional communications among receivers smaller than a nano-meter.
Unbeknownst to mankind, this is one of the benefits of "mastering consciousness!" However, just like in all the other timelines in which humanity had mastered true quantum-technologies, the tech was almost immediately monopolized by powerful actors and weaponized against the public.
Rumor has it that the events of the "Reflex Agent" timeline were so dark, with humanity performing such heinous acts of abuse against pure-consciousness and thus the fabric of nature itself, that it actually grabbed the attention of interdimensional beings!
"Ok," they thought from some supercompacted consciousness plane, "They're meddling was all fine until they started to encroach on our home."
Since beings of consciousness couldn't directly interact with the humans of the Reflex timeline, they had to find different ways to enter their reality. One such way was to transplant a kind of primordial consciousness into the concept of "energy" itself; essentially giving all electronic and technological devices a type of singular consciousness.
Such was the unseen forces working to counter the inevitable trajectory of mankind's mastery of consciousness.
The show was a grisly, dark, dystopic cyberpunk thriller that many people said was "not as good as the comic".
"Reflex Agent" is a real project by my best friend Kay.
