In this first episode of Egil's Saga (Chapters 1-9) we learn of Egil Skallagrimsson's grandfather Kveldulf and Kveldulf's son Thorolf (Egil's uncle). Reading from the 1893 translation by WC Green which is in the public domain. This story was first written down in Iceland in 1240 AD by "Anonymous" but many people believe it to be the work of Snorri Sturluson.
