I reached the Knockdown Center after a 10-minute Citibike (not e-bike) ride in drizzle from Jefferson Street so not in the best of moods. The front of house doorkeepers were pretty surly but efficient. No Guinness here and the food was sold out by 8pm, so things didn't start well, but there was no queue to purchase a can of Founders All Day IPA and soon things started to improve. The guy in the men's room selling Twix (not a euphemism) at $5 for two fingers was friendly, but not too friendly. There is now a "Champagne Bar" (I don't know either) and more seating than I remember seeing at this venue before.
The music was consistently good for all of the bands at the Outline Festival. Two stages were in use, which is a first for me at Knockdown Center. Unfortunately, the múm set was plagued with a blown fuse on the monitor set-up so the band couldn't hear themselves. So frustrating to travel from Iceland and then have tech issues. Otherwise the sound was good on both stages and the cavernous venue made it easy to get around.
