François Mackandal and Dutty Boukman are Marabout Muslims from the Mandinka tribe. The word Marabout, derived from the Quran, describes a Faithful strengthened by Allah, who receives revelation from Allah. Colonial historians attempted to distort the history and culture of West African tribes descended from Prophet Muhammad (s). European historians i,e, fabricators have made false claims that the Mandinka in Haiti, men of monotheism, called upon alcohol spirits with English titles or indulged in an unknown pork ritual. The Vodun societies admire these Islamic Jihadists so much, they attempt to claim them as their own. Vodun practitioners also worship a Muslim Queen name Belkis (Queen of Sheba), go figure.
But their scholarly claims are based on the fictional writings of oppressors. In addition, most people in Haiti are illiterate and only speak Creole. They have no ability to research the claims made by the oppressors who recaptured them, mentally and spiritually, through politics.
The presence of illiterate Muslims in Haiti, most of whom are Shi'a, proves that the children of slaves in Haiti have been able to preserve their most ancient identity and culture. Haiti continues to be a battle ground between spiritual forces of good and evil. I had the opportunity to engage my spiritual opponents in Haiti, who failed at several assassination attempts.
The Boukor in Hait lost their spiritual war with me. They saved face by telling their communities that my "Vodou" is more powerful than theirs. I do not practice any sort of Sihr! This is why the lies being spread about Makandal and Boukman are personal to me.
