Axtone Records is pleased to welcome fresh new talent to the label, Jay Bombay who follows the likes of fellow Belgians Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Sem Thomasson in releasing on the imprint.“Hooked On You” was signed during an online demo listening session with Axtone A&R Edd Thomas with prospective producers submitting via Virpp; Jay’s track being the last but not the least of the session.
Edd Thomas: "Jay was messaging in the chat asking if I would listen to his demo, I only had enough time to listen to one more track and I wasn’t disappointed!"
Jay: "It was always a dream to sign a record to Axtone. I remember dancing at the Axtone stage at Tomorrowland in 2019 with my friends, now releasing a song on the label.
We started writing this song 2 years ago and ended up making a bunch of very different versions. The last one ended up on the demo live stream and getting signed. The story of how this came together is proof to never give up. Believe in yourself and your sound."
Whilst an electronic dance artist at heart Jay whose real name is Jeff Monballiu has also worked on scores for television alongside his releases which have picked up support from key tastemakers.
