Today's Catholic Mass Gospel and Reflection for April 7, 2025 - John 8:12-20

God’s Timing, Not Theirs

Monday of the Fifth Week of Lent
Lectionary: 251

Verse before the Gospel: Ez 33:11
I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked man, says
the Lord, but rather in his conversion, that he may live.

Gospel: John 8:12-20
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me does not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.” The Pharisees said to him, “You offer testimony about yourself; your testimony is not true.” Jesus responded, “Even though I offer testimony about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going. You judge according to the flesh; I do not judge anyone. And when I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me. And it is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. I am one who offers testimony about myself, and the Father who sent me offers testimony about me.” Therefore, they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you did know me, perhaps you would know my Father also.” Jesus spoke these words at the treasury while teaching in the temple. And no one apprehended him because his hour had not yet come.

Monday, April 7, 2025 - A moment with GOD through HIS WORD.

Reflection: When challenges arise, do you trust that God is in control, guiding everything in His perfect timing?

Prayer: My glorious Lord, I glorify You for Your wisdom and power and rejoice in the perfect will of the Father in Heaven. The Father sent You on a mission of redemption and salvation and permitted You to ultimately suffer and die. But through this suffering He brought final victory over death and all evil. Give me faith to know and believe this truth with my whole heart. Bless this coming Holy Week, dear Lord, and permit me to rejoice in Your glorious victory. Jesus, I trust in You.
