We are your average hardworking couple based in South Florida, building a Van into our Tiny home on wheels hoping to move in Full Time & eventually travel the America’s!

Follow along as on this episode we tackle installing our Spare Tire Rack/Carrier which we purchased from Owl Vans.

Step 1:
-Change your manufactured hinges to those that will meet the standards of the tire carrier hinges.

Step 2:
-Use template provided with tire racks to measure where hole will be drilled.
-Mark the center of the hole
-We used a 3/8 drill bit to create original hole

Step 3:
-Use a step bit to drill the hole to meet the parameter of the circle originally drawn
-Drill until the backing plate fits in hole

Step 4:
-We used nail polish to prevent rust on the hole. You can also use automotive paint, etc.

Step 5:
-Take the backing plate and peel off the backing. The backing is used as a weatherproof / waterproof resistance keeping any water or rust from developing in the hole

Step 6:
-Attach tire carrier
-Tighten all nuts & bolts on the hinges and backing.

Step 7:
-Attach your tire!
