Using an automated drone to visually inspect the aircraft is more time-and cost efficient. It can be achieved in about 20 minutes (10 minutes per wing). The drone can be deployed in a matter of minutes, taking high-resolution images . These images support ground engineers to get an estimation on the size of the paint issues as well as the severity of deterioration across successive inspections.
This innovative tool was co-developed with KLM Engineering & Maintenance.
