In the movie Donnie Darko, there is a scene with Drew Barrimore saying "This famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that Cellar Door is the most beautiful."
And the Cellar door represents this gate that leads us to the abyss of our soul, where we hide our fear, love, shame, etc. Sometimes we have to open it. "This is why we need to fall" is about the fear of failure, "And in the middle, you" is about love and illusion, "Millennium Problems" for this feeling of being special and complex but also really commonplace at the same time, and finally to let go... cause it does not matter. "Lights and Death" was made when the fear of death felt bearable for just a moment. "Dernier rendez-vous" is about accepting that everything has an end, and this is the beauty of it.
