The Pyramids of Giza are three iconic ancient structures built during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty (circa 2600–2500 BCE) as monumental tombs for pharaohs. Located near Cairo, they include the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, with the Great Pyramid being the largest and the only surviving wonder of the ancient world. These pyramids symbolised the pharaohs' power and divine connection, designed to guide them to the afterlife. The site also features the Great Sphinx and other smaller pyramids and tombs, forming the heart of the Giza Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
