🇯🇲 'Festival' is an annual celebration in Jamaica established in 1962 to commemorate the nations new found independance. Festival encompasses a range of events and competitions, all designed to showcases the heritage, creativity, and unity of the Jamaican people. At the heart of this celebration is the Jamaica Festival Song Competition, first run in 1966. This annual event invites musicians and songwriters to craft original pieces that embody the spirit of Jamaican culture, resilience, and joy. The winning songs, known as "Festival Winning Songs," often become cherished anthems that resonate with Jamaicans across generations and many iconic tracks found thier start as festival entries.
