The Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad, originally built in the 13th century, was the capital of medieval Golconda Sultanate. It was expanded and fortified by the Qutb Shahi dynasty in the 16th century. The fort is known for its advanced acoustic and water supply systems and its role as a center of diamond trade. It was eventually conquered by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1687, marking the end of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The fort remains a significant historical and architectural landmark today.
