I am so pleased to present the 1st Member Mix from TMB, who is part of the Get It Together collective and Live From The Groove out of the UK.He has this to say about his mix:
'I'm a co-founder of DJ collective Get it Together and part of the team behind Live from the Groove records which I helped to set up initially as a live stream project in lockdown before it grew organically into an independent label.
I've been DJing and collecting records for as long as I can remember.
Early experiences of hearing records like 'The Tables are Turning' and 'Tougher than Leather' on my teenage brother's hi-fi deck as a kid ignited a lifelong obsession with drum breaks and Hip Hop culture leading to me cutting my teeth as a DJ on the Drum and Bass scene in the Midlands during my teenage years.
Maturing in age and moving to the South Coast of the U.K. has broadened my musical horizons and launched me deep into the world of hunting records in a wide range of genres, inspired in part by the collective energy of groups of DJ's within the scene such as the Forty Five Kings, so it was an honour to spin these records.
I have put together a stack of my favourite 45's, mainly records that never leave my box that have served me well in DJ booths for a good while. I've also played some records from the label which I'm particularly proud of. I would usually take a set in a few different directions genre wise but I wanted to stick to Hip Hop and Reggae in the main for this mix, enjoy!'
