On this week’s installment of The Joy of Recording we’re digging in deep into the foundations of our piece-in-progress. That’s right, it’s time for BASS.

Bass is an incredibly powerful instrument in an arrangement, and for that reason when I am building a song piece by piece like this I often wait until I’m well into the recording before adding bass. It allows me the chance to be intentional and architectural with how the bass drives the song!
