In episode two of this series I wanted to keep it close to home and show you a city many people still skip when visiting the Netherlands!Which is Utrecht! The most central city in the country and a great city for everyone who has seen Amsterdam already and is tired of the crowds.
Utrecht also has tourists nowadays, but I believe it still doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Let me give you some recommendations for the city and I hope all of the Dutch people can help me with that in the comments (since I’m not an Utrecht native).
What to see, do, and eat in Utrecht:
- Stroll along the Oudegracht canal.
- Climb the Dom Tower for panoramic city views.
- Visit the Centraal Museum for art and history.
- Explore the Rietveld Schröder House for iconic design.
- Eat at the Winkel van Sinkel.
- Catch a concert or film at TivoliVredenburg.
- Browse local shops on Twijnstraat and Steenweg.
- Do a food tour at the Vredenburg market.
- Have dinner at Blauw for authentic Indonesian cuisine.
- Drink craft coffee at The Village or brunch at Daens.
