I've recently added Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) to my 20 month old Tesla Model Y RWD. In this video I revisit auto lane changes which is one of the features of EAP. I've found that auto lane change is too slow at moving into the fast lane on a motorway or dual carriageway, particularly in fast busy traffic. I've since discovered this is due to UNECE regulations that Tesla has to comply with in the UK and EU, which is slowing down the auto lane change manoeuvres and can sometimes make it unsafe.
So in this video I try to demonstrate how these regulations restrict Tesla's auto lane changes, if you have Enhanced Autopilot.
The vehicle in this video is a 2024 Tesla Model Y RWD (MCU3/HW3) with the 62.5kWh (60,5 kWh usable) LFP battery and at the time of filming this running on software version 2025.26.7.
