1990-92 UK Illegal Raves: No Rules, Just Freedom
In the early 1990s, the UK’s underground rave scene thrived in fields, warehouses, and abandoned buildings. These illegal free parties brought together ravers, legendary sound systems like Spiral Tribe, Bedlam, Circus Warp, DIY, and Exodus, along with New Age travellers, for a movement fuelled by unity, freedom, and groundbreaking music. But by 1994, the UK government introduced the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, aiming to crush the scene by labelling it a threat to public order. This video takes you back to 1990-92, before the crackdown, when freedom truly ruled the dancefloor.
