Heavy rainfall during the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, a significant Muslim festival, caused flooding in various parts of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, resulting in the presence of bloody red water on Thursday.

Eid-ul-Azha holds great religious significance as it honours the Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) obedience to Allah's request to sacrifice his son.

Over the past few days, Dhaka experienced relentless monsoon rain, resulting in flooding in many parts of the city.

The long-standing issue of inadequate drainage systems has compounded the problem, causing significant inconvenience for residents.

As one of the most densely populated cities in the world, Dhaka witnessed the sacrifice of thousands of animals during the Eid-ul-Azha festivities, which took place on streets, in garages, and in front of houses.

The continuous rainfall coincided with these sacrificial rituals, intensifying the flooding and creating a distressing spectacle of water tinged with a bloody red hue.

The combination of animal waste, blood, and rainwater in affected areas has led to unsettling scenes, with some locations submerged in knee-deep, blood-tinged water.

The persisting issue of waterlogging in Dhaka can be attributed to inadequate drainage and limited waste management systems.
