Sinethemba Mahlangu is from Zola, Soweto, South Africa. Third Ear received some demos from him in 2019 and since then have mentored him and encouraged his talent. The Unorthodox Flow EP is his first release. We are proud and excited to now share his music with the world. The EP shows a prodigious talent creating a original form of music. His choice of tempos demonstrates a fearless approach, while his sounds and arrangements show a knowledge and understanding of house and classic soul and jazz, with an experimental edge. It works with artists who have a little something extra, a different twist on the tried and tested sounds, making them more than just another record. This time it is Sinethemba Mahlangu proving that point with a deep house EP drenched in Afro influences and a sublime sense of spirituality. 'Worn Out Black Hoodie' has you immediately gazing off into the cosmos, 'Melancholia' is subtly late-night jazz house and 'Unorthodox Flows' is a dreamy beatdown. The fresh rhythms and absorbing ambient designs continue on two more tracks that make this an exquisite EP.
