Hopefully, our lounge will be a eclectic jumble of styles that will be less subjective to the swings of fashion.

Boho Chic relies on a mix and match of different colours, patterns textures and styles. It draws it inspiration from vintage, French chic, Art Deco, old and new. Items found from around the globe rub shoulders, with modern designer sourced objects.

Different patterns, colours and textures are mixed and matched together, drawing inspiration from flower power era, vintage furniture and historians who would straddle the world collecting items on their travels. Modern furniture mingles with pieces found in flea markets and auctions, with designer objects and trendy pieces finding their place next to restored or up-cycled furniture, just as a vintage or exotic decorative object will be highlighted by an ultra modern lamp. It is this contrast that gives its identity to the bohemian chic style.

Give it whatever name you wish, Boho-chic, Hippy-Chic, Luxe-Grunge or Luxe-Bohemian the basic fashion essence dates back many years. People would travel the globe, picking up ideas, trinkets and fashions, bringing back design influences into a visual showcase of their adventures.

Natural, soft and raw materials are important in the bohemian style, as are the colours. Lots of light colours, with forestal and autumnal accents, all this melts into a huge free-for-all cooking pot, where there are no strict rules.

A boho-chic lounge is supposed to look like a casually decorated hang out, not a ultra organised, precisely chiseled, sharp edged box room.

Embrace hand crafted skills such as wicker, macramé, earthenware pottery, exposed wood, craft ware etc. Rugs, cushions, house plants and water-colours all add warmth and comforting atmosphere.

Quality antique furniture, speaks volumes and is readily available in France at affordable prices; in the right setting, such as an ancient farmhouse, Boho-Chic could be the perfect fashion choice.

Our first feature wall colour; although autumnal; was too bold, so we decided to dial down the pallet and explore more in line with French Chic and go boho with our accessories.
