Cleaning up your bass can give you the room you need in your rock or metal mix. This is a technique I like to use to do a few things with my mixes. First, this makes room for the bass in the mix. Second, it lets me get a bit more power out of my mix by removing the extreme lows that tend to overpower a mix.
