Henry the crocodile is estimated to be 123 years old and is considered the oldest known crocodile in the world.
Henry is more than 5 meters long from snout to tail and weighs 700 kilograms, making him unusually large for a crocodile.
It is estimated that he has fathered over 10,000 offspring after mating with at least 6 females since his arrival at the Crocworld Conservation Center in South Africa.
Henry is believed to have been born around 1900 in the swamps of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
Some scientists have speculated that crocodiles, like Henry, may show negligible aging, meaning they show no signs of biological aging and have the potential for extraordinary longevity.
Research has shown that the gut microbiome of crocodiles may contribute to their longevity through its effects on the host's physiology.
