The M132 Armored Flamethrower was a fearsome U.S. military vehicle developed in the 1960s by modifying the widely used M113 armored personnel carrier. Designed for close-quarters combat in the dense jungles of Vietnam, it replaced the standard machine gun with an M10-8 flamethrower turret capable of projecting napalm-based fire up to 200 meters. With a 200-gallon fuel tank and pressurized nitrogen system, the M132 could unleash devastating bursts of flame to clear bunkers, trenches, and enemy hideouts. Operated by a crew of four, it combined mobility, protection, and psychological impact. Though effective in its role, the M132 was eventually retired as flamethrowers fell out of favor due to ethical concerns and changes in combat strategy.
