🔹 Intrusion – Unwanted flashbacks, distressing memories, and nightmares that make it feel like the trauma is happening again.
🔹 Avoidance – Steering clear of places, people, or thoughts that trigger painful memories.
🔹 Hyperarousal – Feeling constantly on edge, easily startled, struggling with sleep, and experiencing irritability.
🔹 Numbness & Dissociation – Feeling detached from emotions, relationships, or even reality itself. Some may struggle to remember parts of the trauma.
Repeated or prolonged trauma, especially in childhood, can lead to Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), causing emotional dysregulation, low self-worth, and difficulties in relationships.
