WAKE UP CALL:

Last week, a pastor asked his ushers to close his church doors (not lock) and asked his congregation & online viewers to give $40,000 ($20 a piece) to cover the costs of their upcoming conference and people were talking about it for days all over FB.

Folks across social media ridiculed him, made death threats and typed think pieces about how he was wrong and why that’s the reason they aren’t apart of the church (even though it’s not lol).

This week, Pastor Mitchell of 2819 Church in Atlanta gave $50,000 to a family that drove 44 hours from Canada to join their church and offered the father a job. I haven’t seen one single person on FB talking about it.

Just goes to show how much people, even those who are supposed to be the body of Christ, love to gossip, slander & tear down others. We are so loud when it comes to spreading negativity & rumors but quiet when it comes to giving praise & gratuity.

I hope we can grow from that mentality and develop discernment on when it’s best to speak up, and when it’s best to simply be quiet.
