But life at Kirkfell is always full of light and shade — and while one chapter edges toward a close, another quietly begins. Katie heads off on a journey to collect a new addition to the Kirkfell family 🐾💛. We’ll introduce them properly soon, but for now, it’s a day full of mixed emotions and hope.
Back at the cottage, Scott takes on a hefty task: clearing out the barn of all the used sheep bedding 🐑🧹, and beginning the deconstruction of the old log shed to make way for… Sheepingham Palace — our brand new sheep shed-to-be! 🪓🏗️
What began as a simple dismantling job turns into a far more stubborn project than we expected. Years of weather and wear have made the log store more defiant than it looks — but we chip away, one beam at a time. 🪚💪
Katie also explains why our usual quad bike and trailer can’t be used to collect the stones needed for her Georgian garden build 🏡🪨. It’s back to basics — and back to lifting by hand. Every stone carries weight, in more ways than one.
A huge thank you to all of you who’ve so kindly donated seeds for our wildflower garden 🌼💐. Your support means so much, and it’s going to transform that space into a place of true beauty and buzzing life.
This is one of those episodes that holds a little of everything — sadness, laughter, hard work, quiet reflection, and the quiet joy of moving forward, even when it’s hard.
