Local Suicide and Wiener Planquadrat share more than just a musical wavelength - theirs is a long-standing creative friendship, built over countless nights, shared stages, and a deep mutual understanding of the darker corners of electronic music. The quartet now presents their new single ‚“Der Apfel Fällt Nicht Weit Vom Stamm” on Iptamenos Discos showcasing their evolving sound. The song was written in 2024 in Local Suicide’s Berlin studio and went through countless revisions in studios across both Berlin and Vienna until it reached its state of perfection. The single stands out as one of the most accessible tracks this collaboration has produced so far: a leftfield pop song that unfolds like a slow-moving fog creeping through a late- night club: mechanical yet sensual, minimal yet immersive. It drifts somewhere between dark disco and synth pop, steering clear of typical dancefloor formulas in favor of something more hypnotic, more internal. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – and that tree is rooted in a shared history between two acts who’ve spent years honing their sound on parallel trajectories.
