"A of A in 9" is another composition from David Gilmore and it applies the Carnatic contraction method to a nine-note motif at four speeds. The motif is then supplemented with a lyrical nine-note passage at one speed. The effect is aural beauty through balance and proportion. The day 11/11/11 happens to be a one hundred year recurring calender derived time cycle. Time cycles (be they man-made or solar-based) symbolize the wheels of life, death and the continuum. Time as a construct perhaps closely resembles a non-linear solution of cornstarch-to-water in it's ability to become rigid through applied forced and liquid through relaxation of force-flow.
