This version of “Louie Louie” became one of Motörhead's well-loved covers, adding their signature gritty energy to the iconic rock'n'roll anthem. Motörhead made their first appearance with “Louie Louie” on BBC's Top of the Pops on September 14th, 1978.
Louie Louie, oh baby, we gotta goAye-aye-aye-aye-aye-ayeLouie Louie, oh baby, we gotta go
Y'know, my little girl, she's waiting for meSail a ship across the seaOn the ship you know I'm all aloneI wonder if I'll ever make it home
Louie Louie, oh no, we gotta goAye-aye-aye-aye-aye-ayeLouie Louie, oh baby, we gotta go
Three nights and days I sailed the seaI think of girls, oh constantlyOn the ship, you know I dream that she's thereI smell the roses in her hair
Louie Louie, oh baby, we gotta goAye-aye-aye-aye-aye-ayeLouie Louie, oh yeah, we've gotta go
Let's give it to 'em, right now!
