Brief marketing introduction to Clearway Technologies' "FireSite" CDN. The video is from 2000. Clearway's FireSite itself was the first internet content delivery network, initially launching in 1996. This video, from 2000, was for Clearway's big VC-funded re-launch. The 'early stage' CDN being referred to here is Akamai, which was already a powerhouse in the market, but which used a slower, more cumbersome DNS-and-reverse-proxy-cache system. I (Mark) was the founder of Clearway, and inventor of CDN; see US Pat. 5,991,809, filed July 1996. We launched FireSite as a fully-operation commercial product in August of 1996. Akamai was incorporated about two years later after that.
