In this video I’ll be preparing and tasting the favourite food items of the most successful king of the Mughal Dynasty, Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar. Other than Britishers, Mughals are known to have ruled a large part of India for the longest time and Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar is considered to be the most successful of all the Mughal Rulers. Since Akbar spent his early years in a Rajput household and then went on to marry a Rajput queen, Jodha Bai, his inclination towards basic Indian vegetarian food was inevitable. It has been recorded in several history books that Akbar liked to consume the basic Dal Khichdi and one of India’s current most popular street food, Samosa, on a regular basis. Surprisingly this food item was extremely easy to prepare and it turned out to be extremely flavourful and unique in its own way. I had a great time preparing and trying out these food items.
