The New Jersey hardcore outfit had just released their EP Persona in August 2024 and were gearing up for major tours with Spiritbox in April and Volbeat in September, along with a scheduled appearance at Coachella, all of which are now cancelled.
In a public statement, the band pointed to former guitarist Anthony Webster as the reason for the split, accusing him of serious misconduct including stealing tens of thousands of dollars, sharing explicit photos of bandmates without consent, and creating a toxic and unsafe environment. The band shared that these actions caused lasting damage and left them unable to continue. We've linked the full statement below if you want to read everything in detail.
Fans have rallied behind the remaining members, encouraging them to regroup and continue making music in some form. So far, Webster hasn’t responded to the allegations, and there’s no word yet on who will replace Gel on the upcoming Spiritbox and Volbeat tours. With Spiritbox’s tour kicking off soon, expect an update in the near future.
